Go and Make

June 21, 2011 – Go! is a new blog created by ABC District's Executive for Outreach, Rev Dr Glenn Schaeffer, that is intended to be a venue to face challenges, pray for each other, share ideas and discuss issues related to the ministry of congregations, especially in the area of outreach.  This is a forum for all Church workers and laity.

The blog will:
1. Advance missional theology and strategy;
2. Equip God’s people to be missionaries in a post-church culture;
3. Direct people to missionary opportunities and training sessions;
4. Inspire God’s people (and congregations) to see themselves as missionaries to their communities; and
5. Promote and share the stories of God’s people as they participate in God’s mission to the lost.

Many of us are out of our "comfort zone" when we think about doing "outreach" or being a "missionary", but these terms simply mean to communicate with others what we know about God.  And, really, isn't that all we are supposed to do, simply be witnesses to what we know and tell others? And to assist those who want to know God better by helping them grow in faith through the Word and Sacraments so they too can be disciples of Jesus?

All members, volunteers and workers are encouraged to visit Go! and be inspired and encouraged with thoughts and ideas for outreach. Both on a personal level and on a congregational level.

Expense Reimbursement Form

Click here to get a copy of the Expense Reimbursement Form. There are two forms on a letter size sheet of paper. When printed, cut in half and submit one form with receipts for reimbursement.

Please note, some receipts may not mention HST (or GST) and simply say "TAX". Since July 1, 2010, out-of-province organizations charging HST(GST) must charge the tax rate of the province being sold to. (For example, for items sold to BC, Concordia Publishing House in the USA charges Canadian HST at a rate of 5% for books, and 12% for everything else. But their invoice will simply say "TAX".)
