Sarah Wemyss: Feb 26, 2010
Sarah's a good sport! At the last minute, the concert venue was changed from Trinity's Sanctuary to the Church Hall because the Canada-Slovakia Hockey Game was playing at the same time as the concert was scheduled to start. This was a semi-final game for the Olympics, so people were torn between going to the Sanctuary or watching the Canada team play the national sport on the high definition 20' big screen in the church hall. Besides Sarah loves hockey as well (check out this YouTube Roberto Luongo video!). So Sarah performed a few pieces before the game started, a few pieces during each intermission, and then a final selection of pieces after Canada won! (If you are wondering why she is often looking over her right shoulder, it is so she can keep an eye on the big screen and watch when the game is going to resume!)
Because of the last minute change of venue, setting up the webcast was hectic and we were unable to test equipment before Sarah started playing. We missed the pre-game performance, lost the video during the first intermission, and suffered some audio problems with hum and poor mix. But a great performance nevertheless!
