2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM)

NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The 2022 Annual General Meeting of Trinity Lutheran Church - Richmond will take place:

Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 11:30am
at Trinity Lutheran Church
7100 Granville Avenue
Richmond, BC  V6Y 1N8

Any Communicant Member of Trinity Lutheran Church may sign in at the Annual General Meeting to be on the new Voters List.  Signing onto the Voters List indicates your intention to attend all future congregational meetings until the next AGM.  (Note: A new Voters List is created each year at an in-person Annual General Meeting, but due to COVID-19 a new Voters List has not been possible since 2019.)

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING — AGENDA

1)  To Review and Approve Trinity's 2021 Financial Statements

2)  To elect members to Trinity's Board of Directors

3)  To consider investing surplus funds in Lutheran Foundation Canada's
      Custodial Fund Program 

For each item on the Agenda, a motion will be stated, and information pertaining to the motion will follow.  Please review the relevant documents for each Agenda item, available via the links provided below.  To help minimize discussion within the meeting, it's requested that any questions or concerns be addressed before the date of the meeting, by contacting Ewald Wuschke, Allen Schellenberg, or Pastor Zhang.


 

AGENDA ITEM 1 — 2021 FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

MOTION: Trinity's Board of Directors moves to accept the 2021 Financial Statements as distributed, and further moves to accept the Financial Review Reports for the English and Chinese Ministries.

AGENDA ITEM 2 — ELECTION OF TRINITY'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS
MOTION: Be it moved that the individuals named in the proposed list of Directors, having been nominated and agreeing to serve in that capacity as so indicated, be elected as members of Trinity's Board of Directors for a two-year term.

AGENDA ITEM 3 — INVESTMENT OF SURPLUS FUNDS WITH LUTHERAN FOUNDATION CANADA
MOTION: The Board of Directors of Trinity Lutheran Church moves that the congregation allow the Board of Directors, at their discretion, to invest Trinity's reserve funds within the Custodial Fund Program of Lutheran Foundation Canada.


INFORMATION:  Current investors within the Foundation's Custodial Fund Program include over 20 congregations, and 8 other organizations affiliated with Lutheran Church – Canada, who together with the Foundation's investments, have a total of over $20 million invested.  These funds are invested across multiple asset classes (fixed, equity, and alternatives) using three different investment firms, all of whom also hold funds on behalf of LCC's pension fund.  For further information, and historical investment returns, see below.
